March 5th, 2013- I got home today which is great news but I am definitely starting to feel the full effects of this round of chemotherapy. We had a pretty straightforward discharge and were home a little after 1:00pm. I spent as much time as possible with Bryce this afternoon but had to sneak in quite a bit of nap time because I barely slept at all last night. I believe the high dose steroids were causing a bit of insomnia but that is hopefully past now that they are done. It is definitely a whole different concern being at home with problems but I know after a day or two it won’t be quite as scary.
Bryce is cutting his second top tooth and it has obviously been bothering him quite a bit. He is still amazingly well behaved and barely complains but, the buckets of drool aside, it is very easy to tell he is uncomfortable. He was actually moaning a bit in his sleep tonight which was a mixture of adorable and heartbreaking. This short week being gone has seen so many changes in him that I can’t wait to spend the next several weeks basking in every moment with him.
